Dear Valued Customers and Friends of French Meadow Bakery:
We apologize that our website continues to be inactive. We have been cooperating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to correct packaging and website errors that have been identified with a select few of our products. Specifically:
- Our Hemp Bread was referenced on our website as an “excellent source” of protein, and it should more accurately be referred to as a “good source.”
- Our Healthseed Spelt Bread and Spelt Bagels have been described as an “excellent source” of fiber on the website, when a correct measurement would define these products as a “good source.”
- The website description for Men’s Bread is also being adjusted to reflect a more accurate daily allowance for certain vitamins found in the product.
- Finally, we are removing a statement that Kamut Khorason wheat can often be tolerated by people who are sensitive to wheat or who have a wheat allergy.
It’s important to note that these descriptive errors in no way pertain to the quality and wholesomeness of our products, and that all current recipes for our products will stay the same.
We are committed to adhering to the highest standards in accurate food claims and our decision to suspend our website will remain in effect until we have 100 percent assurance that our packaging and product descriptions are accurate. We do expect that our website will go “live” again next week.
Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience and we thank you for your continued understanding and support.
Sincerely,
The French Meadow Bakery Team
